Livingstone kennels takes great pride in providing healthy companions, our first step is making sure our adults are health tested before participating in our breeding program. We use Paw Print Genetics for breed specific health testing. To the best of our knowledge your puppy is in good health at the time of purchase and has been started on permanent inoculations. Your puppies immune system is not fully developed until he/she has completed their series of puppy shots, Therefore we strongly urge you to take the following precautions:
1. Visits to the vet: Never put your puppy on the floor or the ground outside of the clinic, instead carry your puppy or use a pet carrier. Ask the vet staff to disinfect the exam table before you set your pup down for his/her exam. I know this may sound overly cautious but there are quite a few sick animals visiting the vet.
2. Dog parks, pet shops, puppy preschool and areas where other dogs of unknown health may have visited, should be off limits until your pup has completed his/her series of puppy shots.
Please provide your dog with proper diet, exercise, shelter, routine vet care and educate yourself on proper training techniques and dangers to your pet.
We are available to answer any questions you may have.
Your puppy will need to adjust to their new surroundings and schedule. It will be a stressful time for him/her so be sure to provide plenty of rest, love and understanding.
All puppies are seen by a licensed veterinarian a minimum of twice before leaving my home. Their first visit they have their dew claws removed and tails docked at 3 days old. Once they are 7 weeks of age they will receive their first vaccinations/wellness check they are then deemed healthy unless otherwise noted on their vet report. Their health guarantee covers 1 year from date of purchase against any serious illness/congenital defect. The health guarantee will be extended to 2 years for your new pup providing you keep them on NuVet using order code 48900 to order go to www.nuvet.com or call 1-800-474-7044, I highly recommend this product and give it to all my dogs.
Please make sure to bring your puppy to their new veterinarian within 72 hours of picking them up, if your puppy is examined by a licensed veterinarian and found to have a serious illness or non-treatable congenital defect, I will abide by the Minnesota law governing the sale of dogs/cats as stated in the printable version below. There will be no replacement given if death was the result of abuse, neglect or accident, please note Livingstone kennels strives to raise healthy/happy companions to be cherished by loving families for years to come and would never intentionally sell an unhealthy puppy.
